Project News
Although mining industry, and its fuel and power branch specifically, faces the economic depression and the decline in construction and production, the coal producers in Russia are trashing out issues of technical efficiency and profitability of coal deposits, preparing technical feasibility studies and mining-and-geological substantiations, and are enlarging the infrastructure and extractive capacities. Highly busy as usual in Q3 2009, Sibgiproshakht engineering team has completed the following projects: 1. The Supplement to the Project “Reconsideration of Detail Design in Terms of Transfer to the Deeper Level V -135 m and Extraction of Coal Left in Pillars in the Koksovaya Mine” (Project development period is 2007 to 2015). 2. The VNIMI Institute report for Seams 20 and 21 mining in the Vostochnaya Zhemchuzhina Mine field, Lopatinskoe Coalfield, Sakhalin Island. 3. The Project “The Open Mining at the Denisovskoe Deposit”. 4. The mining-and-geological substantiation for the construction of 220 kV overhead line in the section Neryungri Hydroelectric Installation—Nizhni Kuranakh2, in the area above the Denisovskoe mineral deposit. ...

The Vostochnaya Zhemchuzhina Mine Modernization Approved by the Industrial Safety Expert Board
The Project had a few stages: • Stage I—late in 2008 Sibgiproshakht delivered a modernization project for the nearly abandoned mine to the Customer, Vostochnaya Zhemchuzhina Ltd., the largest coal producer in the Sakhalin Island who has been extracting the Lopatinskoe Coalfield since the 1940s. To revitalize the abandoned mine, Sibgiproshakht engineers have corrected the mine technical part of the Project and finalized the Seams 20 and 21 mining project under the guidance of the Chief Project Engineer Sergey Alin; • Stage II—the lower level mining project completion. After this project stage realization, the mine will reach the annual coal capacity 800 thousand tons, while its recent yearly output is merely 50 thousand tones. To revive and enhance production, it has been suggested to support mine workings with rockbolting and to arrange full coal conveyorization between a working face and the daylight surface. The high-productive China-manufactured mining machinery will be assisted by the diesel-hydraulic transport monorail. This Project is a result of the team work of Sibgiproshakht and the Siberian Branch of VNIMI JSC. ...

RF Main State Expert Review Board Certified the Pereyaslavsky Open Mine Enhancement Project

Sibgiproshakht design engineers have finalized and won expert approval of an enhancement project for the Pereyaslavsky Open Mine affiliated at the Krasnoyarskkraiugol JSC. The project provides for raising the Open Mine performance to 7 Mt and subsequently to 8 Mt of coal per year. The Project benefited from supervision of the experienced Chief Project Engineer for Open Mining Protasov, A.I. The comprehensive analysis of technical documentation available at Sibgiproshakht record-keeping office and the data of auxiliary exploration of the Open Mine field resulted in finding it technically feasible to lay a railway line toward the extraction area and to put into operation the cyclic-and-continuous process technique. Sibgiproshakht engineers reached the goal with wheel excavators for high-efficient direct coal loading into the railway cars. Sibgiproshakht has furnished some other economically effective recommendations to the Owner, Krasnoyarskkraiugol JSC to implement suchlike projects at the other affiliated open mines, e.g., Latyntsevsky, Abakansky and others, after a reliable appraisal of feasibility to remove overburden by wheel excavators. At the moment the Project design and estimate documentation has been delivered to the Customer.... More

The Inaglinskaya Mine Construction Project Approved by the RF Main State Expert Review Board

The Project’s Customer is a many-years trust-worthy business partner of Sibgiproshakht—“Yakutia Coals—New Technologies” Ltd. The to-be construction site of the Inaglinskaya Mine will embrace the Vostochny GeoBlock, Chulmakan Deposit, South Yakutia Coalfield. The Mine Project features the 117-m-thick permafrost, insular in the deepened areas of the terrain, under local background seismicity magnitude 7. Theofferedtechnologydistinctionisa “galleryhorizon”. Sibgiproshakht design engineers consider flat dipping seams to be suitable for opening-up by galleries, highly efficient and expedient in terms of the mine performance standards and the mining safety. The Project solutions enable reaching the mine design capacity of 2 Mt per year as early as by the third operation year of the Mine. The Project has obtained concurrence with the Technology and Ecology Control Board of Rostekhnadzor (RF Technical Supervision) for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and sanction of the RF Main State Expert Review Board in October 2009.... Time to Veer

The ceased coal consumption resulted in slowing down of coal production. Sibgiproshakht’s experts believe it is possible for coal mining enterprises to bridge over the difficulties in the following way. First of all, mining shall strictly adhere to the project requirements as violation of industrial safety and overrunning of mining and handling machinery are the frequent causes of underground accidents....
